Counseling Programs

Antonio E. Garcia Arts & Education Center

Counseling services are offered at no cost Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 4:30-7:30 p.m. (other than group counseling; see schedule below). To get started, call the Garcia Center at 361-825-3600 and make an appointment.

Counseling is provided by TAMU-CC graduate students, under the supervision of a licensed counselor.

Child Counseling

Child sessions include behavioral management, stress management, anger management, conflict resolution, play therapy and other therapy depending on the needs of the child. Each child is assigned a counselor who works with the student for a period of time. Child counseling services are flexible, and counselors will work with children as long as the parent wishes the child to receive those services.

Family Counseling

Family sessions include stress management, family communication, family cohesiveness, parent-child interaction, conflict resolution and other therapy depending on the needs of the family. Each family is assigned their own counselor and may receive services for as long as they wish.

Group Counseling

Group therapy sessions will be held every other Friday in the evenings during the fall and spring.  Food will be provided.
