Family Health Project

Antonio E. Garcia Arts & Education Center

The Family Health Project provides families with pre-screenings to determine health services that need attention, transportation to medical appointments, family health education for intervention and preventive practices, navigational skills to maneuver through social service networks and assists the family with any other immediate needs.

With help from the College of Nursing and Health Science students, families receive assistance on health-related issues, learn necessary skills to navigate social service networks, and acquire health education to lead healthier lives. The TAMUCC nursing students organize a Community Health Fair in April and November with free health pre-screenings, health education, activities and provide nutrition classes for our after school program. Check our calendar for exact dates and times for our health fair. This project takes place each semester and the nursing students are always looking for families to participate in this project.
